Babysitter Wanted

At first, going into “Babysitter Wanted,” you are led to believe this is another “When a Stranger Calls” rip off — albeit a good one, because Sarah Thompson, as the babysitter of the title, has plenty of charisma and the acting chops necessary to headline a film like this. Book of Blood

Clive Barker movies have been getting the short end of the stick lately, heading straight to DVD into cinemas, which is where they belong.

Deadgirl

An ingenious, awesome zombie movie, “Deadgirl” is about as far away from a popcorn horror movie as you can get.

Haunting in Connecticut

“True” ghost story movies have had mixed success over the years.

House of Death

A very leisurely paced cheese fest with a discofied soundtrack and unintentional laughs aplenty, “House of Death” is a forgotten horror movie worth watching if you have lots of time to kill and a taste for bad movies.

Orphan

A brilliant, cheeseball horror thriller that takes some of the concepts of the flawed ’70s thriller “The Godsend” and amps up the tension by a thousand times.

Love Butcher

An unjustly forgotten horror movie from 1975, “The Love Butcher” enjoyed a release to VHS in the 1980s before drifting out of print and into obscurity where it remained before apparently getting a new DVD release in 2006.

Train

Horror train films are few and far between, but one inevitably shows up every decade or so.

Halloween II – 2009

What I love about “The Devil’s Rejects” is that it’s a true grindhouse movie.

Crescendo

A lost Hammer gothic thriller, “Crescendo” made its way back to DVD via the “Warner Archives” series in 2009, making it one of the last Hammer films to see any kind of official release.
